My Night Off!

I'm sure many of you can agree that although you love cooking it can be exhausting having so many ideas and trying to cook something new as often as possible. And when you're not cooking something new you're cooking a familiar favourite.....and so, you feel like you're ALWAYS cooking, and perhaps need a rest :)

My guy reads into this sometimes and will offer to cook something special for me. I don't have to lift a finger! Aaahh! time to put my feet up and wait for what delicious creation he comes up with. And let me tell you, when he decides to cook a new creation it is always delicious. It's so nice to eat a dish made by someone who has a totally different cooking style to my own.

Since I didn't make this dish I don't know the exact ingredients or methods but from looking at and eating it (of course) I can tell you this much;
It was a beautiful medley of Eastern European flavours consisting of sauteed chicken strips, parsley rice, fried frankfurter, mushrooms, pickles and onions, with boiled egg and sour cream. I say Eastern European flavour because they serve pickles and/or boiled egg with everything! It just seems to add that 'je ne sais quoi'.

The night we had this dish we agreed that he should have 1 night a week dedicated as his cooking night (and this will not involve frozen pizza, packaged soups or anything instant....I had to make this clear because I know his tricks!! haha!)....but a month has passed and he hasn't kept this as a habit.....ah well, inspirational cooking is his thing only once in a while but I will happilly wait and the next time will be super delicious also I'm sure!

I look forward to my next night off :)

Thank you for visiting my blog! I like what your guy put together for you. I'm really intrigued by the frankfurter, mushroom, pickle, and onion combo. I so enjoy learning about other culture's culinary flavors. Alongside those eggs, sr cream, chicken, and rice, you had quite a flavor explosion! He did a good thing, here! :-)

Great job Monsieur M. You should put your feet up more often!
